Pia Raeymaekers is a Belgian Glass artist who makes unique kiln formed sculptures.
Through the years she has specialized herself in kiln formed glass in Belgium, Czech republic and the UK. She creates on-off sculptural mould melted glass pieces.
The examining of techniques and pushing boundaries with glass has always been a driving factor in her practice.
She combines the use of porcelain with glass. Using these two materials and researching how they relate to each other throughout the firing process and after.
Pia has spend four years on the Irisch North Coast. This has a significat influence on her werk and and visual language.
She doesn’t strive to imitate but to create sculptures which are self-contained stories.
